For some time, I've been trying to find a Japanese Christian musician, as I began to get more interested in learning Japanese (I'm still learning, but I'm on it!! =D ) just to know how you use music to praise the Lord in your country (every nation has its way to praise the Lord so to get people listen and be affected by this music).

I'm so glad to finally have found one, I've heard your song samples, they're very beautiful and touching, you're probably a great blessing to your people, Morishige-san, and even if they don't accept Jesus in their lives right now, the Lord is surely using you and your music to plant the Seed in their hearts, so please continue to praise the Lord and proclaim His Glory all over Japan that more can be saved.

I'll pray for your ministry so that you can get through the worst hardships with God's aid. Lord Jesus blesses you every day and will continue to beyond the end of your days. =D

-James

PS: Oh, yeah, I'll see if I can get to buy some of your CDs. Wish me luck!!

Bryan tipped me off to your blog. Were you sure that was a preacher at the mike? I remember times when it was someone who caught a glimps of the promises and demands of Jesus.

Long time ago in a far away place and thrilled to hear you are still walking.

I knew Shige very well in those days. The guys at Capers House -
we weren't all quite as messed up as he describes us (grin!) - OK, some
of us were pretty goofy, but it was a VERY FUN place to live!

Mr. Noboru Morishige was introduced to us guys at Capers House,
2101, Capers Avenue, by a friend named Dwight Marable.
He had met Shige at an open mic night down off lower broadway
where Shige was playing some music amnd they struck up a
conversation. At the time he had been staying in a hotel for $40 a
night and WE had a place where he could stay for $40 a month
AND hear about Jesus, he he!

Shige once told us: "Look at how you live; you are so untidy!
I will NEVER believe in your Jesus!"

Well, you all know the rest of the story. I haven't read all of his blog here, but it is important to note what a role that Japanese Bible
played. Before they were close or married, Martha Beveridge (Marty as
we called her back then, she is appropriately more diginified now!)
was part of our circle of friends at Belmont and Koinonia Coffehouse,
and she invited Shige to come and play music for her students at the
school where she taught class. While he was there, she asked him if
she could get him a Bible in Japanese, and would she read it if he
was given one. He said he would read it and the result was very interesting. He can tell you just how he was impacted by what he read.
I think it's a great story...

Shige became one of the best, most genuine people I have ever known, and on top of that he is a darn good "picker" as they say in Music City.

I got to play Sweet Georgia Brown with him once or twice in the living
room there at Capers House. Good times!

What guy! When I think of the people I love and count as friends in this world, he makes the "short list."
